RE: Consideration to transfer asset C3026 to Pct. 1 Constables Office
BACKGROUND
Asset C3026 is a 2010 Chevy Silverado in the fleet as a surplus vehicle.
SUMMARY
Pct. 1 Constables Office is wanting to have the asset (C3026) transferred to Pct. 1 Constables fleet to be utilized for proactive enforcement. The vehicle is a civilian model vehicle that does not give any appearance that it is related to law enforcement. This asset will allow deputies to conduct surveillance and be utilized during undercover criminal operations.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY
The asset is a surplus vehicle in good mechanical condition requiring only minimal preventative maintenance and fuel. There is no new expense to Galveston County on an initial purchase.
RECOMMENDATIONS
I recommend to the Commissioners Court to approve the transfer of asset C3026 to Pct. 1 Constables Office. This asset will aid deputies in conducting successful investigations and arrest which will improving safety to the citizens of Galveston County.
